As paraphrased from the syllabus: In this first of three capstone courses for the Environmental Science/Policy major, we are learning about "pure" inquiry, exploring how various environmental issues are analyzed through various types of qualitative and quantitative inquiry. This will then allow us to build a "comprehensive framework" that can be applied throughout future EV courses, as well as used to better understand broad environmental issues and how they are approached.
Already we've heard from Marion Hordequin, a philosophy professor, and Anne Hyde, a historian, about their approaches to inquiring about the environment through their given fields. This has been helpful in giving us different and more interdisciplinary perspectives on approaching environmental issues.
